Hell has frozen over!
Love this place! It's usually in and out service, however there are the days just like any other dps office overly busy and crowded.. luckily it's a small office so not much room for a crown. I've personally never spent more than 30 minutes in here. Also the staff is very polite and helpful.
The two ladies working here the day of my visit we're very friendly. A mother and her 6'4" , 16 year old son were there for his learner's permit. When their number was called and the young man stood up, she exclaimed "step on up shorty!"
She was just as cordial with everyone else, including me, hell, she's the first person to ever retake my photo and Actually got a smile out of me. First time in 35 years of drivers licenses I've ever smiled.
Took my son in for his license.. The absolute rudest Customer Service I have ever experienced.
I was at this location with my child to renew their license. Trying not to be rude, I stepped outside right by the door to use my cellphone. As soon as I turned around, I could see the lady with blonde hair locking the door. I told her that I was just inside with my child. She put her hand up in my face, as to push me away and continued to lock the door. Still trying to explain to her that my child was on the inside, she locked the door and walked off. Another gentleman who only step away to the car to grab a piece of paper that they asked was locked out as well. Extremely poor customer service. Being that I’m a tax paying law abiding citizen, I as well as others do not deserve to be treated with such disrespect. I will be contacting a supervisor.
As a new resident in TX, I had to go to the DPS to exchange my out-of-state DL. And although I currently live in Beaumont, after reading all the reviews about the poor customer service I decided to make the trip to Orange instead. I have to say I am very happy with that decision. My husband and I arrived at about 10:15 am, and even though it was packed (there were about 15-20 people before me) the entire process took about a little over an hour! The three ladies in the counter were super friendly and quick! Once they called my number, they asked for all my papers and took care of everything in about 5 mins. In the line, I spoke with others that had tried either getting their renewal or new DL in Beaumont and Port Arthur and they mentioned that they had been there all day with no luck. And after those unsuccessful trips had also decided to go to Orange as well. Whenever there were people that had filled out the incorrect paperwork or needed any additional help, the ladies at the counter were very nice about it and gave those people the opportunity to get everything they needed while also attending others to keep the line moving. Overall, great experience!
